Rymeg Homes is a small, family-owned new construction home builder dedicated to quality construction, premium finishes, and exceptional client care from start to finish.

Rymeg Homes is owned by Bob Schmidt, who brings decades of experience and a hands-on approach to every home we build. Bob earned his degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1984 and learned the art of home building and land development from his father-in-law, Ronald Hardee, who built homes and developed subdivisions throughout South Kansas City for more than 40 years. Carrying on this proud family tradition, Bob founded Rymeg, Inc. in 1994 and has since built numerous homes and subdivisions across Grain Valley, Independence, Belton, Raymore, and Peculiar.

In 2016, Bob’s son, Ryan Schmidt, officially joined the family business after graduating from college. Ryan grew up on job sites, helping out from a young age and gaining firsthand experience in the building process. Today, Ryan is a licensed real estate professional who manages the marketing of Rymeg Homes, assists with project oversight, and works closely with subcontractors to ensure every detail meets our standards.

Bob’s daughter, Megan Schmidt, joined the team in 2021. Also a licensed real estate professional, Megan plays a key role in marketing our homes and selecting design finishes for our spec homes, helping create spaces that are both functional and beautifully designed.

Behind the scenes, Ronda Schmidt, Bob’s wife, keeps everything running smoothly by managing accounting, organization, and administrative operations—an essential part of the Rymeg Homes team.
